Heading to Tanzania!

Getting there...

The trip, by bus, took us south from Nairobi... through Maasai country

Looking south from the bus...

.... and back north..

... to the sides we passed through rural towns like Bissel..

 

.. 

....After passing through immigration and customs at Namanga we headed on to our new home...

From there we headed to the coast to begin our studies of biology

Crossing the Pangani River by ferry...

Transportation to the reefs was assisted by the Coastal Resources Divisiion

Underwater, coral gardens awaited us...

The challenge of learning who lives in this diverse community quickly became apparent

We learned how to survey reefs on land....

Then moved undewater... checking substrate type...
