Back in Arusha, we began a week of studying birds.

All the local birds had to be learned (Sacred Ibis) |
Working in and around Mt Meru gave access to many different habitats |
Other birds were caught in mist nets... |
... and carefully extracted. |
Once in hand, the birds were brought back to camp. |
for banding (White-browed Coucal) |
Birds were measured... |
.... and checked for molt and reproductive condition |
By dinner, everyone's appetite was quite keen |
Later, we would talk about the day's activities |
Diversions included a round of "Pass the Hedgehog"... ... or "Count the army ants in Dylan's pack!!" |
Towards the end of the week we took a two-day trip around Mt Meru.
Arusha National Park |
Studying in style |
We saw several troops of Black and White Colubus Monkeys |
