This site is the course web site for the course that was taught at Lewis & Clark College during fall, 2004.

With support from the National Science Fundation (grant DUE-0411237), CS 393 is focussing on Grid computing.
A rough outline is the following
- introduction (including HTTP, CGI/ servlets, cookies)
- sockets
- remote methods invocation (RMI)
- web services (and XML)
- security
- grid computing.
